The American fighter has once again showcased undeterred confidence
Teofimo Lopez Jr. (15-0, 12 KOs) is scheduled to meet with WBC/WBA/WBO and Ring Magazine lightweight titleholder Vasyl Lomachenko (14-1, 10 KOs) in a unification bout, which will take place on October 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
In his interview with The Ring, the American pugilist stated that he was way ahead of his training schedule just only a month after the start of the training camp.
“I feel good, I do feel relaxed and this probably the best training camp that I have ever had. We are putting a lot of work in. We have not changed anything. The only difference is I am getting stronger and I am getting faster,” Lopez Jr. stated.Related: Lopez shows no respect for Lomachenko prior to their unification bout
The IBF champion continues to point out that Lomachenko is predictable due to his age and overall number of fights.
As we reported earlier, representatives for Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe and Ukraine’s Denys Berinchyk have started negotiations over the WBO title elimination bout.
“We have signed a promotional agreement with Denys Berinchyk in 2015 with the provision that the London Silver Olympic medalist will get his chance to challenge the world title. Being the part of the 2012 Dream Team together with Loma, Usyk and Gvozdyk Berinchyk has been working hard to get his title shot,” Berinchyk’s promoter stated.
